JOB SUMMARY:

Provide leadership and direction for all day-to-day activities for the Test Engineering team. In addition, provides engineering support to engineers in order to maximize the effectiveness of the functional engineering team and serve as an engineering project leader. Manages the functional team’s budget, distributes work load, establishes goals, and monitors employee’s performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)Develops goals for the team and for each individual within the team that reflects the goals of the company and the manufacturing engineering group.

Supervises, provides leadership, assigns projects, and coordinates day-to-day activities for the functional engineering team.

Develops and coordinates procedures that follow the new product introduction (NPI) process and ensures the transfer between sites is seamless and successful.

Reviews all quotes for new production models and coordinates design reviews.

Oversees the quotation, initiation, scheduling, and coordination of developmental activities for the functional manufacturing engineering team.

Develops and manages functional team tactical and strategic plans for manufacturing technical roadmaps.

Develops and maintains functional team’s design for manufacturability rules and guidelines.

Manages functional team in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. This includes staff forecasting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Interfaces with customers as required and all other departments in US, Mexico, China and Vietnam Attends meetings as needed to support organization activity

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
10 plus years of experience as a manufacturing engineer or test engineer

Experience leading or managing a team Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations: frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and factor analysis

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
