Supervisory Electrical Engineer
As a Supervisory Electrical Engineer, you will:
Program Management & Technical Authority:
Oversee the Near-Term Operations Planning program, exercising full supervisory authority over study processes, analysis, tool development, and market mitigation strategies.
System Reliability & Operational Modeling:
Lead near-term system modeling (steady-state and transient stability) and operating plan development to ensure a flexible, reliable power delivery framework across the BPA network.
Vulnerability & Market Mitigation Approval:
Serve as the supervisory authority for Bulk Electric System (BES) operating plans, directing the use of Energy Imbalance and Day-Ahead Market tools to resolve vulnerabilities.
Personnel & Team Development:
Exercise full delegated supervisory authority over staff and contractors, including task delegation, performance management, and identifying and arranging employee training and development.
Stakeholder Leadership & Dispatch Support:
Direct technical and operational support for transmission system dispatch, providing leadership guidance to internal teams, Reliability Coordinators, market entities (day ahead and real time markets), utilities, and regulatory bodies (WECC, NERC, DOE).
Outage Coordination Oversight:
Direct outage coordination support, facilitating planning and risk mitigation for complex transmission outages in the near-term operations horizon.
