This role requires deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation analysis, capital markets, and data-driven forecasting, combined with the ability to participate in analytical efforts, and collaborate across government and industry stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

This position is fully on-site, five days per week, in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Key Responsibilities
  • Part of the development, execution, and refinement of complex financial models, including integrated operating models, scenario analyses, forecasting tools, and valuation frameworks.
  • Analyze investment funds, portfolio companies, and capital strategies across a range of alternative investment structures and public‑private funding models.
  • Conduct advanced financial analyses including sensitivity analysis, stress testing, attribution analysis, and risk assessment to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Evaluate financial and operational data to identify trends, economic drivers, and performance insights relevant to emerging technologies and national security priorities.
  • Guide and support the intake, vetting, and pipeline review processes for potential investment opportunities, ensuring analytical rigor, transparency, and traceability of decision inputs.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess financial assumptions, validate model outputs, and recommend enhancements to analytical methodologies and reporting processes.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison across federal agencies and partner organizations to drive alignment, reduce friction, and enhance capital effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting tools, data systems, workflow management processes, and modeling best practices.
  • Support the development and documentation of financial analysis methodologies, investment policies, risk mitigation strategies, and reporting frameworks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in financial modeling, capital markets, investment analysis, strategic finance, or the defense innovation ecosystem.
  • Deep knowledge of financial modeling methodologies, valuation techniques, capital strategy, investment structures, and public‑private funding models.
  • Proven experience building, reviewing, interpreting, and challenging complex financial or quantitative models.
  • Strong proficiency in financial forecasting, scenario analysis, risk analysis, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Experience utilizing advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as Excel, Python, R, SAS, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, investment analysis, and financial engineering principles.
  • Proven experience evaluating or supporting innovation in dual‑use or national security‑relevant technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in senior‑level roles involving interagency coordination, policy interpretation, strategic financial analysis, or capital allocation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non‑technical audiences.
