Overview
The Associate Community Banker delivers personalized client service by holding financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Responsibilities- Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone, answering questions, assisting with issues, and offering solutions.
- Opens and maintains a variety of products including consumer and basic business checking and savings accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, consumer credit cards, and more.
- Performs teller duties such as check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and accurately counts currency and coin.
- Identifies referral opportunities to other lines of business (Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, Wealth Management) and documents referrals in 360 View.
- Builds client relationships through proactive outreach and follow‑up.
- Completes work accurately, meets deadlines, and minimizes errors.
- Participates in volunteer activities and financial education efforts.
- Stays current on regulatory changes and demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures.
- May engage in conversations about and process new consumer loan requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Banking or related experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Uses tact and diplomacy effectively when interacting with clients and coworkers.
- Proficient with personal computers, Microsoft programs, 10‑key skills.
- Knowledge of digital platforms, CRM systems, and emerging technologies.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence.
- Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations.
- Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
- Problem‑solving ability involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Demonstrates timely completion of work, adapts to workload, and takes personal initiative.
- Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations.
- Acceptable background investigation results required.
Hand/finger dexterity for computer use, frequent handling, hearing, frequently lifting up to 25 lbs, sitting, standing, talking, walking, moderate noise level. Typical work hours vary based on scheduling and business needs.
Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated pay range for this position is $21.45 to $32.19 per hour in WA.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hour worked, approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid federal holidays.
