About The Role
The Credit Administrator is responsible for assisting the Chief Credit Officer in ensuring the overall performance of the bank's loan portfolio and supporting loan officers with credit, special asset management, and past due loan management. The position will evaluate and approve/decline credit requests for assigned lenders and/or loan types that exceed their signing authority. Responsibilities include monitoring the credit quality of assigned portfolios to help ensure that established risk parameters are being adhered to, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and credit policies of the Bank, providing assistance to lending officers in managing credit risk, and assisting with the development of Commercial Banking Officers, credit analysts, and any other colleague involved in the evaluation of credit.
The role reviews and evaluates the most complex credits and acts as a technical expert for complex credit products.
The payscale for this position is $86,587.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties- Support lenders with special assets management
- Support lenders with past due loan management
- Portfolio review and analysis
- Review problem loan reports
- Review credit memos
- Evaluate and approve/decline credit requests for assigned lenders that exceed their signing authority, up to the credit administrator's loan authority
- Monitor the overall credit quality process of the bank portfolio, through problem loan reports, semi-annual ADC reviews, OREO/OPPA reporting, and other timely loan reporting requirements
- Review and evaluate the most complex, larger credits and work with loan officers to ensure loan reports are accurate and complete by providing and clearing review notes prior to submission to the CCO and/or loan committee
- Coordinate and conduct ongoing training for the development of Commercial Banking Officers, credit analysts, and any other colleague involved in the origination and managing of credit
- Provide ongoing assistance and advice to Commercial Relationship Officers, credit analysts, and any other colleagues involved in the evaluation and structuring of loans, keeping the bank's best interest in mind
- Utilize existing bank analytical tools and devise or recommend revisions to improve efficiencies and enhance the accuracy in loan underwriting and ongoing credit management
- Manage the internal and external loan review process, including working with the reviewers and the loan staff to ensure accurate and timely responses
- Manage the Quality Control process, including working with the QC team and the loan staff to ensure accurate and timely responses
- Work with the CCO and other Credit Administrative Team members to manage special assets

- Minimum 10 years banking and/or commercial lending experience, with lending approval
- A four-year degree is required
- Experience working in special assets
- Accuracy with financial calculations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations exercising flexibility and sound judgment
- Strong organizational and time management skills are essential
- Proficiency in keyboarding and Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, a minimum of 3 days per week onsite
- Experience with constructions and AG lending preferred
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise
Physical DemandsPerform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations.
