Financial Advisor / Consultant
Position Overview
Personal Financial Counselor providing personal financial services at assigned military installations. Responsibilities include full‑breadth counseling, education, briefings, presentations, and referrals to participants. The role works closely with installation and branch points of contact to ensure program scope and effectiveness.
Responsibilities- Provide one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, and presentations to service members and families.
- Consult with commanders, providers, and staff to address financial needs.
- Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, promote, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics such as deployment, career events, and other life‑cycle events.
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication modes (web‑based, secure chat, video).
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision, sharing trends and issues on the installation.
- Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience may be considered).
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual English/Spanish if required.
- Ability to obtain a Tier 2 investigation clearance.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Certification:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500, subject to adjustment based on skills, experience, and education. Eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, voluntary, and other benefits.
