Overview
Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency is looking for a person with strong interpersonal skills capable of working independently, sometimes in contentious situations. We are seeking qualified applicants to join our inspection team as an Air Quality Specialist I.
ResponsibilitiesThe position conducts inspections of businesses and asbestos projects, and responds to air pollution complaints in office, industrial, commercial and residential settings.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Policy, Engineering, physical or natural science, or a closely related field.
- One year of experience in regulatory compliance, inspection, investigation, public or adult education, or similar experience; OR Five years of experience in regulatory compliance, inspection, investigation, public or adult education, or similar experience; OR an equivalent combination of college education and/or experience.

The agency participates in the Washington Public Employee’s Retirement System (PERS) which requires an employee contribution. The agency does not participate in Social Security but has adopted a 401(a) and 457 Social Security substitute plan with the same contribution rates as FICA. Washington Public Employee Benefits Program (PEBB) provides health/dental/vision/LTD coverage, which is a pre‑tax deduction once a month.
