Position Summary

The responsibility of Lab Assistant I is to provide general assistance to technologists/technicians and pathologists to ensure smooth workflow for the entire department.

Schedule

M-F

Hours:

7:00am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, correlate and quality check completed histology cases
  • Distribute completed slides to all pathologists
  • File un-stained slides/tissue blocks
  • Change, load, rotate, clean, and maintain processors
  • Change, load, rotate, clean, and maintain staining instrumentation
  • Reagent preparation and recycling
  • Utilize company’s internal software applications
  • Restock supplies as needed
  • Hazardous waste control
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Exhibit precise attention to detail

  • Time management skills and organization and the ability to multitask
  • Has exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Performs with a professional demeanor
  • Able to perform well under pressure with a large work volume
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and PPE requirements
Qualifications / Experience
  • Minimum high school graduate
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in biology/chemistry/anatomy preferred
  • Prior clinical medical setting or laboratory experience preferred
  • Basic computer program & application skills
  • Customer service experience
Physical Requirements
  • Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Vaccination Policy

Cell Netix follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccination recommendations for healthcare workers in addition to applicable Washington State laws.
