Position OverviewThis position is responsible for providing a full range of telephone switchboard duties, including triaging calls and relaying messages. Assists with clerical duties as required. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Courteously and efficiently answer all incoming calls and connect callers with the correct extension.
- Take and relay messages accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency and urgent calls from patients promptly, directing callers immediately to clinical staff as necessary.
- Perform operator functions including triaging calls, connecting and transferring calls, setting up conference calls, instructing users on telephone procedures, and reporting telephone and equipment malfunctions to the appropriate party.
- Provide pleasant and helpful phone contact for callers.
- Be responsible for opening and closing the switchboard.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned to maintain workflow in the department.
- Perform all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
- High School Diploma or a General Education Degree.
- Three to five years of office experience, preferably in a medical office.
- Regularly: sit, bend, grasp, reach, talk and hear.
- Occasionally: stand, stoop or crouch, lift up to 30 pounds, pull or push up to 30 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses; clearly see up to 20 feet with or without corrective lenses.
While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to any workplace environmental conditions caused by extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, atmospheric dust/fumes/vapors/mists, pathogens, or toxic chemicals.
Compensation- Salary: DOE – $18.38 - $25.73 per hour.
