Patient Authorization and Referral Representative - Cardiology

Description

Works with guidance and direction from the Northwest Heart & Lung Surgical Associates Coding Lead. The Authorization & Referral Specialist performs a variety of tasks related to patient registration and is responsible for the coordination of insurance verification, referrals, authorizations and benefits. The Specialist advises patients and families regarding their financial obligations. Work is performed collaboratively with Patient Coordinators and Billing staff.

Coordinate insurance verification, referrals, authorizations, and benefits.

Advise patients and families on financial obligations.

Collaborate with Patient Coordinators and Billing staff.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of hospital or medical business office experience

• Proficiency in word‑processing and spreadsheet applications
• Experience with insurance verification of benefits

Competitive base pay range: $19.97–$30.54 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
