Position OverviewThis position is responsible for greeting patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Ensure all appropriate forms are complete, accurate, and signed according to company guidelines. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Obtain all appropriate forms as required.
- Obtain demographic and insurance information. Obtain copies of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for file. Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.
- Collect co-pays, deductible, and other out-of-pocket amounts at time of visit based on the over-the-counter collections provided by the financial counselor.
- Perform end-of-day financial close‑out.
- Maintain lobby and coffee area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Identify no shows and forward for patient notification process.
- Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
- Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office. Cover for other front office functions as requested.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, forms and other typing as requested by supervisor.
- Perform all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or a General Education Degree
- Minimum three (3) years of customer service in an office setting
Preferred: previous medical office experience.
Physical Demands- Regularly: sit, grasp, reach, talk, and hear
- Occasionally: stand, bend, stoop/crouch, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, pull/push up to 30 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds
- Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses
While performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to any workplace environmental conditions caused by extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, atmospheric dust/fumes/vapors/mists, pathogens, or toxic chemicals.
Salary and BenefitsSalary: DOE $18.38 - $25.73. Benefit information:
