Overview
The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of ultrasound principles and involves applying non‑ionizing, high‑frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnostic purposes. Duties are performed independently with judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, fostering teamwork and reflecting the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.
Required Qualifications- Completion of an education program that meets ARDMS prerequisite requirements for the RDMS examination.
- National Registered Technologist – Sonography (or equivalent) upon hire.
- National Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (or equivalent) upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Experience assisting with obstetric procedures such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS), percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS), and amniocentesis.
- Experience using electronic medical record databases, such as Epic.
Base pay range for this position is $41.65 to $64.66 per hour. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
