Overview

Our New Facility Sunshine on Raymond is now hiring for an Activities Coordinator. This is a Full-Time position, typically Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, with occasional weekend or evening on-call as needed. Active Washington NAC or HCA license is required.

What You’ll Do Resident Activities & Engagement
  • Plan and run a monthly calendar of fun and meaningful activities
  • Lead group and one-on-one activities that support wellness, socialization, and creativity
  • Encourage participation and engage residents of all interest levels
  • Learn residents’ preferences to create enjoyable programs
Event Planning
  • Organize events, holidays, birthdays, and community gatherings
  • Arrange entertainment, guest speakers, and volunteers
  • Coordinate outings, transportation, and safety planning
  • Help decorate for holidays and special occasions
Resident & Family Engagement
  • Build positive relationships with residents and families
  • Share activity schedules through calendars, newsletters, and boards
  • Encourage family involvement in events
  • Respond to feedback professionally
Documentation & Standards
  • Track activity participation and maintain records
  • Ensure programs support dignity, independence, and choice
  • Follow safety and community guidelines

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Associate's degree or certification in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Activities, Human Services, or a related field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtained upon hire.
Experience

• Previous experience working with seniors, assisted living residents, or in activity programming preferred.

• Experience working with older adults, including residents with dementia and chronic health conditions, preferred.

Equivalent experience is not accepted in place of required education.
