Specimen Processing Team Lead - PAML

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to join our team in Spokane, WA.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 4:00 pm to 12:30 am overtime and rotating weekends may be required
- Assist in the oversight of the day to day operations of the accessioning department
- Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
- Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
- Encourage process improvements and best practices
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Resolve any production errors as requested by management
- Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
- Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
- Perform administrative duties as needed
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year or more experience in a clinical laboratory or Hospital setting
- Associate's degree
- 1 year or more experience in AP or Histology specimen handling
- 6 months or more experience leading a team
- Proficient computer and typing skills
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time
- Strong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight
- Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment

The Lead will support daily accessioning operations by guiding team workflows, overseeing specimen preparation and routing and ensuring adherence to established procedures.
This role performs quality assurance checks, resolves production issues, and promotes continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Additionally, the Team Lead enforces policies, supports administrative tasks, and collaborates with management to maintain effective and compliant operations.
Pay Range: $21.18 - $32.29 per hour
Plus Shift 2 Differential
