The Children, Youth, and Family Mobile Crisis Team is a mobile crisis team that provided crisis services twenty-four seven, three hundred and sixty-five days a year. This is a unique and specialized team that aids children and youth in resolving crisis and providing for the engagement and coordination of community services specializing in engagement and treatment of children and youth. The team will provide rapid response , assessment services, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, linkage to requested/necessary resources and appropriate community
-based mental health and SUD treatment.
The Crisis Clinician is a member of a multi-disciplinary team, which provides telephonic and outreach crisis intervention and evaluation services to individuals and families. The primary goals of these programs are to divert individuals from admission to an emergency department, the criminal justice system, and inpatient psychiatric treatment while maximizing the use of community resources for stabilization purposes. These programs serve individuals who could have a co-occurring disorder and may also be homeless.
The Crisis Clinician provides rapid response, assessment services, crisis intervention, engagement, supportive counseling, information and referral, assistance with Medicaid enrollment as appropriate, linkage to requested/necessary resources and appropriate community-based mental health and linkage to substance use services for ongoing treatment and follow-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provide initial and follow-up phone triage, assessment, and de-escalation services for individuals who are in an emotional or behavioral health crisis, including those referred for Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) services.
Provide crisis and hospital diversion services to youth, adults, and families in a behavioral health crisis and facilitate use of/access to crisis hospital diversion resources.
Provide referral services to individuals requesting assistance or 3rd party referral sources to provide community stabilization and diversion services to the identified individual in crisis, including linkage to a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR).Complete risk assessments to determine if the person is at risk for suicide and/or homicide, and staff the results of the assessment with a supervisor or clinician II to ensure the person’s safety and the safety of others.
MRRCT staff will work in collaboration with the Mobile Dispatch Unit to ensure case response meets contract requirements.
High-risk cases must be brought to a supervisor, in a timely manner, for immediate and appropriate assistance related to response.
