Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward
8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents, of Wards 7 and 8, have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We

are currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Per-Diem/PRN, Nights)

Our ideal candidate will fulfill the needs of the patients, families, and community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. The Respiratory Therapist will maintain and stock respiratory equipment and ensure ventilator and life support equipment are operable.

Qualifications Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program
  • Licensed by the District of Columbia Health Regulation
  • Licensed as a RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC
  • BLS, PALS, and ACLS required (from the American Heart Association)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years, full time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting
  • Experience working with ICU, PEDS ER, and NICU
Skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to identify and competently address the needs of the population served.
