Job Details

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists (NWOS) is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play an essential role in creating a positive patient experience by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support during clinic and surgical visits. This position is responsible for patient registration, appointment preparation, insurance verification, payment collection, and supporting providers and staff to ensure efficient daily operations across all NWOS locations.

Functions
  • Greets and checks patients in and out while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for patients at the front desk, creating a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Verifies patient demographics, insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations prior to appointments.
  • Completes patient registration by updating demographic information, obtaining copies of identification and insurance cards, and capturing patient photographs as required.
  • Collects co-payments and outstanding patient balances at the time of service.
  • Prepares patient charts and ensures all required documentation is complete before appointments.
  • Communicates appointment follow-up instructions and assists patients with questions regarding their visit.
  • Maintains accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.
  • Utilizes Practice Management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to support daily clinic operations.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Floats to other clinic locations as needed to support business operations.
  • Communicates workflow concerns and operational issues to leadership and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical office or customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems preferred.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment.
Shift

Monday through Friday, normal office hours.
