Role Description

The NOW HIRING CAREGIVER role is a full-time, on-site position based in San Jose, CA. In this role, the caregiver provides direct support to clients in their homes, including assistance with personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility. Day-to-day tasks can include meal preparation, feeding assistance, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and support with exercises or prescribed care routines as directed by the care plan.

The caregiver observes and reports changes in clients’ condition, follows safety protocols, and maintains clear documentation of services provided. The role also involves offering companionship, engaging clients in meaningful activities, and collaborating with the supervising nurse, family members, and other care team members to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

Qualifications
  • Experience in providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility support).
  • Skills in basic home management, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and organization to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Ability to follow care plans, provide medication reminders, and accurately observe and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, offer companionship, and work collaboratively with clients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and proper body mechanics when assisting with transfers and mobility.
  • Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or in a related care role is preferred; completion of relevant caregiving or home health training is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications such as CNA, HCA, or CPR/First Aid are a plus.
  • Reliable transportation, ability to work full-time on-site in San Jose, CA, and willingness to adhere to agency policies and state regulations.
