- Improve the overall health of served communities by enrolling and educating patients about CHAS services and community resources
- Oversee management of patients assigned to or eligible for CHAS managed care contracts
- Work with mixed patient populations across gender, age, ethnicity, insured status, and uninsured status
- Review patient demographics to determine eligibility for health insurance, assistance programs, and community resources
- Enroll patients in Medicaid, CHIP, Qualified Health Plans, and Qualified Dental Plans through state insurance marketplaces
- Enroll patients in food assistance, cash assistance, Medicare Savings, childcare assistance, and Low-Income Subsidy programs
- Maintain working knowledge of managed care programs, value-added benefits, and coverage scope
- Educate patients on proper insurance plan utilization, CHAS Health services, clinic and plan rules, and patient responsibility
- Review dental treatment plans, advise patients on insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, and submit dental treatment prior authorizations when required
- Participate in community outreach programs
- Train staff on current insurance, managed care, and resource-related issues
- Track enrollments, managed care conversions, and other activities regularly
- Perform other assigned duties supporting the CHAS Health mission and core values
- HS diploma or equivalent preferred
- Health industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with medical insurance very helpful
- Face-to-face customer/patient service experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Basic computer and typing skills required
- Depending on clinic location, Washington Healthplanfinder navigator certification or Your Health Idaho Enrollment Counselor certification required within 90 days of hire
- Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required
Demonstrates expertise in patient enrollment and education regarding health insurance and community resources, with a strong focus on managed care programs and customer service. Proficient in navigating state insurance marketplaces and maintaining compliance with health industry standards.
