  • Improve the overall health of served communities by enrolling and educating patients about CHAS services and community resources
  • Oversee management of patients assigned to or eligible for CHAS managed care contracts
  • Work with mixed patient populations across gender, age, ethnicity, insured status, and uninsured status
  • Review patient demographics to determine eligibility for health insurance, assistance programs, and community resources
  • Enroll patients in Medicaid, CHIP, Qualified Health Plans, and Qualified Dental Plans through state insurance marketplaces
  • Enroll patients in food assistance, cash assistance, Medicare Savings, childcare assistance, and Low-Income Subsidy programs
  • Maintain working knowledge of managed care programs, value-added benefits, and coverage scope
  • Educate patients on proper insurance plan utilization, CHAS Health services, clinic and plan rules, and patient responsibility
  • Review dental treatment plans, advise patients on insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, and submit dental treatment prior authorizations when required
  • Participate in community outreach programs
  • Train staff on current insurance, managed care, and resource-related issues
  • Track enrollments, managed care conversions, and other activities regularly
  • Perform other assigned duties supporting the CHAS Health mission and core values
Requirements
  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Health industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with medical insurance very helpful
  • Face-to-face customer/patient service experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Basic computer and typing skills required
  • Depending on clinic location, Washington Healthplanfinder navigator certification or Your Health Idaho Enrollment Counselor certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required
