Job Description

Step into a dynamic school-based environment by supporting students across Pre-K through 12th grade as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT). This full-time, contract position is a fantastic opportunity for professionals passionate about making a meaningful impact in educational settings. The assignment begins August 27, 2026, covering approximately 12 weeks for a maternity leave—with a high likelihood of extension when available, though the initial contract is limited to the duration of the leave.

Your work will focus on delivering occupational therapy services district-wide. Collaborate closely with educational teams, create and implement individualized treatment plans, document student progress, and help students with diverse needs reach their highest potential. COTAs work under the guidance of an OT, ensuring strong mentorship and support. The final schedule will mirror a standard school day, approximately 7–7.5 hours daily.

• Active Connecticut COTA license/certification or valid Connecticut OT license
• Successful completion of the NBCOT exam (for COTAs)
• Previous school-based experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity serving Pre-K–12 students with varied needs and backgrounds
• Reliable transportation for district-wide service
• Comfortable collaborating with teachers, parents, and IEP teams

• Provide direct therapy and support to students as outlined in their educational plans
• Collaborate on individualized student goals
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation on student progress
• Adapt therapeutic activities to meet individual student needs
• Participate in team meetings to optimize student outcomes

Compensation for this position ranges from $23.23 to $43.23. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
