Speech Pathologist
Full Time Speech Language Pathologist provides speech-language pathology services in patients' homes in Spokane, WA. The role involves evaluating, treating, and educating patients and caregivers to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver speech-language pathology services in patients' homes
Evaluate patients with speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnoses and functional goals
Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function
Assess and treat patients with neurological, medical, and age-related conditions
Educate patients, family members, and caregivers about treatment plans and strategies
Recommend appropriate communication strategies and adaptive equipment when needed
Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as necessary
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per home health standards
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, OT, PT, social workers, and interdisciplinary team
Participate in care coordination and communicate changes in patient condition
Maintain a professional and compassionate approach while working independently in patients' homes
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current Idaho Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for Idaho licensure
Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred/required per licensing)
Current ASHA certification (preferred)
Current CPR certification (preferred)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to travel to patient homes throughout assigned service area
Previous home health speech therapy experience (preferred)
Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills
Skills:
Experience providing speech therapy in a home health setting
Experience treating adult and/or geriatric patients
Knowledge of dysphagia and swallowing disorders
Experience with cognitive-communication disorders
Experience with neurological conditions and rehabilitation
Strong patient and caregiver education skills
Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with interdisciplinary team
Excellent time management and scheduling skills
Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes
You hold a master's in Speech-Language Pathology and Idaho license. You can travel independently to patients' homes across Spokane. You possess strong assessment, documentation, and caregiver-education skills
