RoleSummary
The Human Resources Manager will oversee day-to-day HR operations, serve as a key partner to managers and employees, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. This role requires hands‑on experience with commission structures, Paycor, and core HR functions, including employee relations, benefits, performance management, training, payroll coordination, and compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day HR needs of all employees, acting as a primary point of contact for questions, issues, and support.
- Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching, investigations, corrective actions, and communication to ensure a fair and consistent workplace.
- Serve as benefit advisor; coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, employee education, and vendor communication.
- Own the performance management process, including goal setting, reviews, performance improvement plans, and career progression programs.
- Administer and update commission agreements and other variable compensation programs; partner with leadership and finance to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Ensure all required learning and training (onboarding, compliance, role-specific training) is assigned, completed, and documented.
- Lead complaint and conflict management, mediating disputes, and recommending resolutions aligned with company values and legal requirements.
- Maintain and monitor performance plans to support employee development and manage underperformance.
- Oversee records management; maintain accurate, confidential employee records and keep all information current in Paycor.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company safety standards and policies.
- Develop, track, and report HR metrics (turnover, engagement, training completion, headcount, etc.) to leadership, using data to drive improvement.
- Regularly review, update, and communicate HR policies and employee handbook changes.
- Train and support managers on HR policies, performance management, documentation, and effective people leadership.
- Coordinate payroll‑related HR tasks, including garnishments, deductions, PTO approvals, balances, and commission‑related payroll inputs.
- Manage the post‑employment process and ensure all required federal and state separation steps and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Own the performance management process, including goal setting, reviews, performance improvement plans, and career progression programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct experience supporting commission‑based roles, is preferred but not required.
- Hands‑on experience using Paycor (or a similar HRIS/payroll platform), with strong data accuracy and system discipline.
- Solid knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) preferred but not required.
