About The Role

POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resources Generalist will assist the HR department to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, and activities of the Human Resource (HR) department primary through benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, recruitment/employment, payroll, employment law compliance, and overall departmental support.

Pay scale: $23.98 - $35.98/hour

Principal Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ensure employee files are accurate, complete, and in compliance with policy
  • Ensure timecards and all other required information are accurate and approved for payroll
  • Assist with the recruitment process: open positions, filter applicants, send offer letters, offer packets, ensure onboarding and new hire checklists are completed, facilitate HR onboarding.
  • Assists with maintaining the Bank’s job descriptions
  • Assist in the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Assists with ensuring training compliance throughout the division
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with handbook acknowledgement, open enrollment, ergonomic assessments, etc.
  • Ensure company compliance with FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state, and local laws
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Assist in project work in the area of employment, employee communications, employee events, benefits and salary administration.
  • Responsible for managing employee recognition platform.

About You Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of experience in a clerical environment
  • Prior banking experience, preferred
  • Prior HR experience or education, preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: up to 35 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
