Operating in a remote‑first, high‑growth environment, this position translates HR policies into smooth, modern employee experiences that support rapid scaling.
The position partners with business leaders and managers to navigate performance management, benefits administration, and state‑by‑state compliance. This is a critical role for ensuring operational excellence and maintaining strong, consistent workplace standards across remote teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the complete employee lifecycle, from structured remote onboarding and orientation to offboarding and exit interviews.
- Administer benefits, payroll updates, and leave of absence programs using modern HRIS platforms (Rippling, ADP, or similar).
- Advise managers on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, performance management plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure multi‑state regulatory compliance, including maintaining accurate employment records, updates to handbooks, and mandatory training.
- Partner with finance and legal teams to manage workers' compensation, equity administration details, and state‑specific tax registrations.
- Analyze people metrics, such as retention rates and employee Net Promoter Scores (eNPS), to propose data‑driven HR initiatives.
- 4-7 years of HR generalist or people operations experience, preferably within a fast‑growing technology company or remote environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple US states (specifically Washington and California).
- Hands‑on administrative proficiency with modern HRIS, payroll, and performance management tools (such as Rippling, BambooHR, and Lattice).
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with high discretion and emotional intelligence.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Bonus:
Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) and experience managing immigration/visa processes.
