Overview

About The Role
The Solutions Developer Lead is a member of the Information Technology, Glacier Solutions Development (GSD) team. Reports to the GSD Development Manager. Responsible for leading technical implementation of strategic projects to enhance the bank’s commercial lending services platforms and applications. Focused product knowledge of banking system management/development with hands-on technical expertise to lead solution delivery for the commercial lending platform, currently nCino, applying technical knowledge and platform capabilities to support business requirements.

Summary
This role works closely with Product and Channel Managers, Solutions Architects, support teams, and technology colleagues to elicit, capture, and translate business requirements and architectural design into technical requirements for the development team. Leads continuous improvement, enhancements, and technical integration. Aligns technical solutions with organizational strategy and functional architecture. Guides, mentors, and supports the development team to ensure efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project team to plan and coordinate enhancements to commercial lending platforms (currently nCino); participate in discovery and refinement to assess technical feasibility of proposed business solutions. Manage all technical aspects including custom code, configuration, development, IT change management, information security concerns, vendor communication, and migration planning for both GBCI and vendor teams.
  • As a lead developer, mentor junior developers through guidance, code reviews, and training. Break down work into tasks, assign based on skills/availability, and review releases, tasks, code, and requirements for quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Independently complete complex and business-critical technical development tasks. Establish technical expertise and teach business domain, data model, and codebase design to other staff.
  • Provide detailed level-of-effort estimates, articulate benefits/risks, and act as a decision maker in technical implementation when disagreements arise.
  • Work with the product owner to manage technical debt within the product backlog, including backlog items (user stories, defects, spikes) and participation in agile ceremonies (sprint reviews, demos, etc.).
  • Offer advanced troubleshooting for complex problems and serve as escalation point for junior developers and business application administrators.
  • Monitor and implement new enhancements and technical capabilities from vendor product releases and acquisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, laws and regulations (e.g., BSA, Patriot Act, OFAC) and complete required online trainings by due dates.
Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience
Eight plus years in software development and/or system administration with configuration of business rules/workflows; eight plus years in product roadmaps, release planning, code/configuration management, and risk/dependency management. Three years of nCino application administration. One year of supervisory or lead experience.

Knowledge
Experience presenting information to executive management, operating in a regulated environment, and leading full lifecycle development. Ability to partner with internal/external technology teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet product requirements. Knowledge of cloud-based commercial loan software, rules management, and workflow systems preferred. Familiarity with Agile, ITIL, Scrum, SDLC/Waterfall and tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Trello.

Licenses/Certifications
nCino and/or Salesforce admin certification is required; certification within 6 months of hire may be required. Advanced Administrator and nCino Platform Developer licenses, and nCino 201/301 Banking Configuration certifications are preferred for some roles.

Other
Travel: occasional, less than 10 days/year. Working environment: indoor, climate-controlled.

Physical requirements:

sedentary with occasional lifting and movement as described in the job posting. This role is in a corporate environment and may be located at a bank division location across AZ, CO, , MT, NV, TX, UT, WA, or WY.
