Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Engineer in BALTIC, Connecticut. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities within the IT industry, including troubleshooting and maintaining various software and hardware systems, managing virtual servers and implementing security practices. The role provides an excellent chance to contribute significantly to our team by ensuring the smooth running of our IT systems.

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual servers using VMware 8, Horizon 8, and Veeam.
• Oversee multiple vSphere platforms across various locations.
• Handle the installation, upgrade, troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software related to virtual desktop PCs, Windows Server, Laser Jet and Barcode printers, hardware systems, and Cisco networks.
• Develop, implement, and maintain programs, policies, and procedures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of systems, networks, and data.
• Test, install, configure, and maintain our networks, including both hardware (servers, hubs, bridges, switches, routers) and software that enable information sharing and transmission.
• Administer databases used to store and retrieve data, and standardize data handling.
• Provide Level 2 Help Desk support for complex issues requiring in-depth troubleshooting skills.
• Offer technical support for standard and proprietary desktop software, effectively communicating with a diverse group of people, including team members, senior management, business customers, and vendors.
• Troubleshoot all levels of issues experienced by production equipment and staff.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Desktop Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Computer Hardware.
• Experience with Active Directory is necessary.
• Must possess skills in VMware.
• Should have knowledge and experience in Basic Network Troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
