Overview

Job description for a business and systems analyst role focused on defining and documenting business and technical requirements, coordinating between business stakeholders and technical staff, and supporting system development and QA activities.

• Gain a detailed understanding of business components and translate that knowledge into requirements for systems or processes.
• Act as primary liaison between project business staff and technical staff.
• May lead areas of requirements development, including work plan development, timeline, and resource management.
• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to application efficiency and reliability.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area (as applicable).
• Serve as the primary point of contact with MAXIMUS project staff and/or clients to define and document business and technical requirements for assigned projects.
• Act as the principal liaison between business stakeholders and technical personnel to ensure alignment of project objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of business processes, operational workflows, and system components, and translate this knowledge into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Lead or support requirements-development activities, including work-plan creation, task coordination, timeline management, and resource planning.
• Define and document data file extracts, automated process flows, report structures, and content specifications to support development, enhancement, and maintenance activities.
• Support customer application development and systems integration efforts involving SaaS platforms, including CRM systems, customer-experience tools, document-management solutions, and financial ERP applications.
• Analyze and document system interfaces, data flows, and integration points across cloud-based and on-premises applications.
• Design, document, and produce ad hoc and recurring reports to summarize, analyze, and present data for project operations and decision-making.
• Participate in system testing, design reviews, and code walkthroughs to validate requirements and ensure quality standards compliance.
• Audit, evaluate, track, and report on application performance and project activities to ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Provide support for system maintenance activities, including assessment of change requests, troubleshooting, and coordination of enhancements.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated experience applying Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) for backlog refinement, user-story development, acceptance criteria definition, and estimation using Jira or comparable tools.
• Proficiency in BPMN 2.0 for documenting current-state and future-state workflows.
• Experience supporting customer application development and systems integration involving SaaS products, APIs, and cloud-based services.
• Experience supporting CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics, or comparable systems) and customer-experience technologies, including Genesys Cloud CX.
• Familiarity with digital-experience solutions, customer-journey mapping, and omnichannel service-delivery platforms.
• Experience working with document-management systems, workflow automation tools, and content-services platforms.
• Exposure to financial ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar) and understanding of financial data flows and business processes.
• Proficiency with AI-enabled analysis and documentation tools that support automated requirements generation, data analysis, or process optimization.
• Experience with process-automation technologies (e.g., RPA tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Power Automate).
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
• Understanding of data-modeling concepts, data governance, and data-quality frameworks.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams within large, matrixed organizations.
• Extensive experience with Jira or similar work-management and tracking tools.
• Experience working with AWS Cloud services, including data integration, analytics, and application development components.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
