Job Summary

The AWS Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering cloud initiatives supporting federal government programs, with a focus on AWS cloud adoption, migration, and operational excellence. This role manages the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with federal standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST), while coordinating cross‑functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings experience managing complex cloud programs in regulated environments, with strong expertise in AWS technologies, risk management, and federal contracting processes.

1. Federal Cloud Program Management
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of AWS cloud projects supporting federal agencies, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and mission objectives.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resources in accordance with federal acquisition and reporting standards.
2. AWS Cloud Migration & Transformation
  • Oversee migration of on-premise systems to AWS environments using structured methodologies and AWS migration frameworks.
  • Coordinate architecture, engineering, and security teams to ensure successful cloud adoption and modernization.
3. Compliance, Risk & Governance
  • Ensure adherence to federal compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA
    , and agency‑specific requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks; maintain project governance artifacts and audit readiness documentation.
4. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government clients, contracting officers, and internal leadership.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendor performance, ensuring SLA adherence and deliverable quality.
5. Agile & Waterfall Delivery Execution
  • Utilize Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies to manage delivery of cloud initiatives.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, status reporting, and executive‑level briefings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage AWS cloud projects from initiation through deployment and O&M support phases.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams including cloud engineers, security specialists, and Dev Ops resources.
  • Provide regular status reports, dashboards, and briefings to federal stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation including Statements of Work (SOW), project charters, and technical deliverables.
  • Support contract compliance, invoicing alignment, and deliverable tracking.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned across programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of project management experience, with 3+ years supporting federal government contracts

  • Proven experience managing AWS cloud migration or cloud‑based programs
    .
  • Strong understanding of federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA).
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and contract deliverables in a government environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust or Security Clearance
    .
Certifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) – strongly
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (minimum baseline)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile certification
  • ITIL Foundation (for O&M environments)
