Overview
Our client is seeking an interim Legal Program Manager with a Compliance background. This assignment is a 3+ month initial period with the potential to extend duration, and possibly transition into a permanent role. The role is anticipated to be full-time with a minimum of 32 to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities- Collaborative approach to engagement, high EQ, able to work well with broad set of stakeholders; i.e., across Legal, Security, IT, Product, Engineering, and Governance, Risk and Compliance(GRC)-focused teams, etc. to enable consistent, scalable compliance practices.
- Support maturation of the company’s overall legal, privacy, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Support and lead aspects of compliance initiatives (e.g., privacy laws, regulatory requirements, audit frameworks) from gap assessment through remediation and certification readiness.
- Support enhancement of the compliance program as a true operational function — improving processes, reducing risks, and driving continuous optimization.
- Coordinate all internal and external audit readiness activities, ensuring evidence, documentation, and controls are in place.
- Create, update, and communicate company compliance policies, standards, and procedures in partnership with Legal, Privacy, Security, and Product.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure “compliance by design” for new products, releases, and market launches.
- Build and maintain compliance workflows that streamline evidence collection, regulatory responses, and ongoing monitoring.
- Translate technical compliance and audit findings into clear, business‑friendly reports for executives and leadership.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis for compliance issues and support incident response involving privacy or regulatory obligations.
- Knowledge of GRC tools (e.g., One Trust) to support workflows, data mapping, assessments, and compliance tracking as needed.
- Able to deliver compliance training programs and maintain internal compliance documentation, wikis, and knowledge bases.
- Awareness of risk management frameworks and approaches.
- Potentially support the tracking and reporting of compliance metrics (KPIs/KRIs) as the organization matures
- Potentially support Sales and Business Development by maintaining approved compliance/security responses for customer RFIs and RFPs.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in legal program management
- Audit readiness and preparation experience
- Relevant certification, or proven equivalent experience in compliance function
Pay rate: $65
