Responsibilities

The Security Operations Analyst serves as the technical hub of our security operations, bridging cybersecurity and physical security technology. The role monitors and acts on alerts from cybersecurity tools (EDR, SIEM) and external threat‑intelligence sources, escalating when needed. It also owns the technical health of our physical security systems, maintaining and tuning camera and access‑control technology to reliably alert on‑site security partners.

  • Alert Monitoring & First‑Line Response:
Serve as first‑line response for cybersecurity alerts (EDR, SIEM) and external threat‑intelligence notifications, triaging and acting on them per established response workflows and escalating when appropriate.
  • Physical Security Systems— Maintenance & Optimization:
Maintain, configure, and tune the organization’s physical security systems—video surveillance and access‑control—so they reliably generate accurate, actionable alerts for the on‑site security team. Work with the system vendor on implementation and ongoing improvements.
  • Become Security System Subject‑Matter Expert:
Act as the internal technical point of contact for physical access system questions, troubleshooting, and configuration, coordinating with vendors and the on‑site security partner to ensure alerts are accurate and useful to their response efforts.
  • Threat Intelligence Triage:
Review and act on notifications from the threat‑intelligence vendor (e.g., external activity and social media anomalies) as first line, following defined runbooks and escalating significant findings.
  • Documentation & Coordination:
Document incidents, configurations, and procedures to build out the security knowledge base. Coordinate with IT, vendors, and the on‑site physical security team to keep workflows and alerting effective.
  • Continued Education & Professional Development:
Stay current on evolving security threats, tools, and best practices through ongoing training, certifications, and self‑directed learning, growing into expanded cybersecurity responsibilities.
Qualifications

High school Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Relevant coursework, technical training, certifications, or equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered in lieu of a completed degree.

  • CompTIA Security+ or similar SOC/security analyst credential preferred.
  • 1–4 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or a related technical field required.
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts (alerts, incidents, common attack types, EDR/SIEM tooling) desired.
  • Hands‑on exposure to any SOC tooling, basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, switching, VLANs), or familiarity with video surveillance/access‑control systems desired.
  • Working knowledge of alert triage and incident response required.

  • General awareness of network security required.
