Job Description

The Maintenance Technician I/II performs routine facility and equipment maintenance, monitors and operates HVAC systems, and takes care of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other installed systems. The role includes preventive maintenance and repair, coordination of building maintenance, and support for maintenance projects.

  • Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, repair, install, replace, and service various types of facility equipment and systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, equipment operation, carpenter, painter, and locksmith.
  • Maintain process water and equipment including preventative maintenance tasks and operational data.
  • Maintain electrical distribution and equipment with preventative maintenance tasks and operational data.
  • Maintain compressed air systems and equipment with preventative maintenance tasks and operational data.
  • Operate and maintain boilers and associated equipment and piping systems with preventative maintenance tasks and operational data.
  • Assist in maintaining WFI water treatment, storage, and distribution system.
  • Perform routine checks and inspections to ensure all systems function properly.
  • Evaluate equipment breakdowns and conduct mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Order and maintain replacement and spare parts for the facility and equipment.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of GMP, SOP, and FDA requirements.
  • Perform snow removal as required.
  • Document facilities maintenance requirements; create and maintain records in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of resources.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Interact with manufacturers, vendors, and operations to resolve issues and concerns.
Additional Responsibilities for HVAC Maintenance III
  • Troubleshoot problems, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and boiler steam systems.
