Description
This position is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems throughout assigned college facilities.

Essential Functions/Duties- Respond to service requests from facility users for repair, replacement, and resetting of defective electrical components and/or the air conditioning system.
- Check and test the energy‑management computer system operation, take readings, and observe operations.
- Examine local fire panels, reset and silence alarms.
- Adjust, repair, reset manual bypass valves, and adjust commercial air‑conditioning equipment.
- Perform various landscaping and ground maintenance activities.
- Maintain log sheets of service requests, and complete orders for plumbing repairs.
- Load, unload, and move various materials and equipment.
- Perform electrical maintenance, painting, light carpentry, shelf installations, and mounting of bulletin boards.
- Respond to requests to set‑up equipment and furniture for college events or scheduled functions.
- Operate various equipment including power tools, forklifts, motorized vehicles, and other equipment associated with a wide range of facility maintenance.
- Respond to all emergencies.
- Respond to requests for cutting keys.
- Respond to requests from security for crowd control.
- Respond to after‑hours requests.
- Good organizational skills, with special attention to detail.
- Ability to work under general direction and infrequent supervision, planning details of procedures and methods to attain definite objectives.
- Makes decisions within broad limitations of policies and within accepted standards.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- Sometimes requires coming in on evenings, weekends, holidays, and days when the college is scheduled to close.
- Exposure on a frequent basis to several disagreeable elements or factors such as oil, dirt, heat, dampness, fumes, chemical dust, and noise.
This position is level C15.

Required EducationGraduation from a standard high school (or equivalent) is required.
Required ExperienceThree years of related previous experience in a facilities maintenance role in one or more trades.
Preferred ExperienceFive years of more related experience is preferred.
