Maintenance Worker 1 (Full‑time)
City of Spokane Valley invites applications for a regular, full‑time Maintenance Worker to ensure the smooth operation of City facilities in compliance with safety standards. The role may require night and weekend shifts as assigned.

Responsibilities- Perform building maintenance and repair, including carpentry, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, electrical work, and groundskeeping.
- Ensure safe interior and exterior conditions of buildings and facilities.
- Coordinate with contractors and oversee facility use during public events.
- Maintain a positive work relationship with all department personnel and collaborate across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three to five years of experience in building maintenance, a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (five years preferred).
- A Heating Mechanics I License is highly desired.
- Knowledge of equipment, materials, and repair procedures; strong tool operation skills; ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely, communicate effectively, and establish working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.
- Strong customer‑service orientation.
- Valid state driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- Successful completion of a background check (including a criminal check) and a pre‑employment physical.
Salary range is $23.50 - $35.57 per hour (Grade 11). This is a represented, FLSA non‑exempt position.
