Dhaka Technologies Limited is seeking experienced Public Safety Communications Supervisors to support a District of Columbia Government client within a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) / Emergency Communications Center (ECC).
This role involves advanced-level technical and operational oversight of emergency communications personnel during assigned shifts. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels, maintaining operational readiness, monitoring workload distribution, and supporting quality assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide shift-based operational oversight within the PSAP/ECC environment.
- Evaluate daily reports, shift activity, and workload distribution to ensure efficient operations.
- Assign, monitor, and evaluate staff performance during assigned shifts.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and support operational continuity.
- Organize and coordinate quality assurance activities.
- Operate and maintain duty-related communications and dispatch equipment.
- Troubleshoot operational or equipment issues when necessary.
- Support performance evaluations and provide leadership guidance to staff.
- Resolve conflict situations and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience and certifications, including prior supervisory experience.
Combination of education, experience as a Public Safety Communications Officer, and training in 911 call taking and dispatching disciplines may be considered.
- Thorough knowledge of E-911 call center technologies and required certifications for public safety call taking.
- Strong understanding of policies, procedures, laws, and regulations governing public safety communications.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), digital communications systems, telephony, and radio equipment.
- Working knowledge of supervisory and lead worker principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to understand agency administrative, operational, and maintenance functions.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to resolve conflicts effectively and maintain operational discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to act decisively and maintain composure during emergencies.
- Capacity to work calmly and effectively under stress while exercising sound judgment and professional tact.
All contract personnel must comply with applicable District of Columbia government policies and procedures, including human resources and progressive discipline standards. Work is performed onsite at the designated DC government facility.
