Position Summary
Part‑Time Recruitment & Retention Coordinator (RC) – 50% position with a 12‑month term, based in Twin Falls County, Idaho.
The College of Professional Programs, Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC) at Eastern Washington University seeks a skilled, team‑oriented coordinator to lead the regional recruitment and retention of foster families. In partnership with statewide contractors and under the direction of the FRTC Director, the RC will develop, implement, and sustain the Diligent Recruitment Plan and related activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the regional Recruitment Advisory Council (RAC) and develop agendas, logistics, and final reports.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, licensing workers, and child‑welfare staff to promote foster family recruitment and support.
- Develop and implement active and passive recruitment, retention, and support events, including public presentations and community outreach.
- Supervise and support regional Resource Peer Mentors, providing training, mentoring assignments, and follow‑up.
- Record and analyze all recruitment activities to meet data collection and program evaluation needs.
- Participate in the implementation of the Diligent Recruitment Plan and develop the annual Regional Recruitment Plan.
- Manage travel throughout Idaho, including multi‑day/overnight trips, to fulfill job duties.
- Report to the FRTC Director on issues, concerns, and recommendations related to recruitment programs and plans.
- Assume administrative duties such as scheduling staff meetings, monitoring contracted hours, and coordinating staffing needs for foster‑parent support.
- Bachelor’s degree, or an Associate’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Child Development, Education, or a related field combined with at least two (2) years of professional experience working within the child welfare system; or 2 years of experience in program/project management, recruitment, or related fields, including supervisory experience and at least 2 years within the child welfare system.
- Complete mandatory training (Preservice, TOT, TBRI) within 6 months of hire.
- Three years of professional experience in social services.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and the complex needs of children and families involved in foster care.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with database management.
- Experience in creative design/marketing.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time across Idaho.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive, flexible approach supportive of all stakeholders.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in social services.
- Program development experience.
- Regular work schedule:
Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with occasional evenings and weekends. - Position requires frequent travel across the state.
Salary range: $27,785.50 – $29,000 per year, based on education, experience, and skills.
