Hotstart, Inc. has an opening for an Injection Mold Operator in our Spokane Washington headquarters. We are looking for a technically competent, motivated candidate to join our team. This position is responsible for operating molding equipment producing plastic parts to meet production requirements for higher level assemblies. This position will work closely with Production team members in addition to Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Design Engineering teams, under the direction of the Production Supervisor and Production Manager.
This position is responsible for their technical growth, with the goal of becoming a Process Technician.
- Ensure that molds are properly prepped in advance.
- Performs all functions of the mold change process, as well as starting/running an injection molding press (pressure and temperature settings).
- Operates Injection Molding Machines to produce products.
- Completes second Operations associated with molded parts, including component assembly.
- Troubleshoots molding machines and ancillary equipment when required
- Will be required to perform material handling duties when needed.
- Understands all procedures associated with the handling of hazardous waste and other trash generated by the department.
- Previous experience with injection molding preferred but not required.
- Analytical, technical, mechanical, and math skills.
- Ability to work and function in a team environment.
- Familiar working with hand tools such as ratchets, screwdrivers and wrenches, as well as grinders and sprue cutters.
- Use of computer software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Previous mechanical/electrical/hydraulics training or experience helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Stand for periods of time, handle frequent movements of hands, wrists and arms
