Hotstart, a world leader in the design and manufacture of engine and equipment thermal management systems, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Material Planner to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Spokane, Washington.
As a Material Planner II, you will play a crucial role in supporting our continued growth by collaborating with the Sales, Materials, and Production Teams managing various functions related to production scheduling and inventory control. You will be responsible for ensuring that production jobs meet customer order requirements while considering manufacturing capacity.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, master schedule, and historical trends.
- Analyze constraints and plan jobs accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing to understand replenishment cycles and proactively communicate upcoming demands and potential shortages.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including minimum stock levels.
- Partner with Production to adjust schedules as needed to address changing priorities or unforeseen challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience with production planning and scheduling required.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a must.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and participate effectively in diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand the complexities of a supply chain, with a strong focus on internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies and projects is a plus.
