Production Operator I

- Pay: $21.50/hr + shift differential + Pay For Performance Bonus

The Production Operator I ensures the loading and unloading of cylinders from inbound and outbound vehicles, including company-owned and common carriers. Supports the movement of all cylinders in collaboration with the management team.
- Commit to company policies, safety, and use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere through communication and harmony with vendors, co-workers, and management.
- Stage cylinders in designated areas for filling.
- Manage loading and unloading of assigned company vehicles within workflow.
- Spot trucks and trailers on company property.
- Transfer cylinders to and from ground storage as needed.
- Assist production personnel in removing full cylinders from the fill area.
- Report cylinder shortages to management.
- Inspect cylinders for condition and report discrepancies.
- Operate a forklift and other equipment as required.
- Maintain equipment and communicate maintenance requests to Plant Manager.
- Contribute to cleaning and maintenance of assigned area; regular attendance essential.
- Perform reasonable work requests as per qualifications.
- Ability to work with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Work occasional overtime to meet production schedules.
- Work in a drug-free workplace.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- May be exposed to noise, vibrations, hazards, explosives, burns, electrical/fumes, mist, dust, odors, gas, moving machinery on uneven ground.
- Work outdoors in temperatures ranging from
-10 to over 110 degrees. - Perform very heavy work; routinely lift, push, pull, carry 50+ pounds and occasionally 76 to >100 pounds; may stoop, bend, crawl, twist, kneel or squat up to 33% of the day.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Operate forklift safely and maintain forklift certifications.
