Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Associate is responsible for assisting a designated machine operator or production team in a variety of functions, including maintenance, clean‑up, yard work, warehouse operations, production, utilities, material handling, and related tasks.
Job Responsibilities- Handles assignments in a repetitive and/or sequential order to complete tasks
- Maintains a clean work area and uses safety gear at all times, following all safety regulations
- Reports unsafe conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor immediately
- Cleans machinery and the surrounding area during downtime, keeping it free of debris
- Maintains machinery and conveyors, cleans floors, and recycles reusable scrap
- Transports trash and debris away from production areas and keeps pallets neat and orderly
- Operates machinery or equipment as trained and instructed, following safety guidelines
- Assists lead operator or supervisor in preparing for shift production and becomes familiar with the machine mechanics
- Facilitates work with conveyors, ramps, elevators, and other assigned equipment
- Operates equipment such as hoppers, bagging and sealer machines, forklift, palletizers, hydraulic equipment, powered tractors/vehicles; internal certification/training required
- Uses a variety of hand tools
- Assists in loading/unloading trucks and completing shipping/receiving documents
- Packages, labels products, handles stockpiles, verifies loads leaving the premises, and manages product inventory
- Performs additional duties as needed on a temporary or permanent basis
- High‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense to written or oral directions
- Follows company production and safety procedures
- Can read and recognize simple two‑ and three‑syllable words and small sets of numbers
- Passes internal certification training
- Can print and speak simple sentences, add/subtract two‑digit numbers, and multiply/divide tens and hundreds
- Demonstrates lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and keeps keys/locks secured at all times
- Attends weekly safety meetings and maintains regular attendance
- Can frequently stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 100 lbs from ground level
- Pay rate $20–$21 per hour, with a $2 per hour differential for graveyard shift
