Job Purpose

As an Electrical Control Panel Builder Intern, you will be responsible for the wiring and assembly of industrial control panels in accordance with the UL508A Standard.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with the assembly and installation of industrial control panels using hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics and recognize components
  • Assist with the assembly of electro-mechanical components with interconnected wiring
  • Cut, strip, bend and mount wires to connect electrical components within the control panel
  • Document modifications or as-built conditions on drawings
  • Test continuity of circuits in electrical wiring
  • Work with low voltage electricity and electrical components
  • Work with Engineering staff to help improve quality and efficiency
  • General manufacturing and assembly duties will be assigned when control panel shop work is not available
Job Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a related program
  • Ability to learn and understand requirements of applicable codes such as NEC 2022, NFPA
    79, and UL508A
  • Attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to recognize and understand electrical symbols
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and other related equipment
  • Ability to work quickly, while always utilizing safe work practices
  • Ability to stand, stoop and/or kneel for extended periods of time
