Job PurposeAs an Electrical Control Panel Builder Intern, you will be responsible for the wiring and assembly of industrial control panels in accordance with the UL508A Standard.
Job Responsibilities- Assist with the assembly and installation of industrial control panels using hand and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics and recognize components
- Assist with the assembly of electro-mechanical components with interconnected wiring
- Cut, strip, bend and mount wires to connect electrical components within the control panel
- Document modifications or as-built conditions on drawings
- Test continuity of circuits in electrical wiring
- Work with low voltage electricity and electrical components
- Work with Engineering staff to help improve quality and efficiency
- General manufacturing and assembly duties will be assigned when control panel shop work is not available
- Currently enrolled in a related program
- Ability to learn and understand requirements of applicable codes such as NEC 2022, NFPA
79, and UL508A - Attention to detail and accuracy required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Ability to recognize and understand electrical symbols
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and other related equipment
- Ability to work quickly, while always utilizing safe work practices
- Ability to stand, stoop and/or kneel for extended periods of time
