Washington Equipment Manufacturing Company, Inc. (WEMCO, Inc.) is a contract manufacturer that specializes in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of productivity-enhancing solutions, such as overhead cranes for material handling, automated aerospace tooling and parts, agricultural equipment, and custom machinery used in multiple industries around the world.

Under the general direction of the Paint Department Supervisor, you will be required to clean, prep, mask, and sandblast materials per written instructions, drawings, and specifications.

• Verify materials prior to work
• Prepare surfaces for coating, including manual debris removal prior to sandblasting
• Operate specialized sandblast tools and machinery to remove paint, mill-scale, adhesives, rust, and surface contaminants to achieve a specified surface finish
• Receive and complete work orders accurately with attention to detail
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure product quality and contractual compliance
• Maintain inventory of sandblasting supplies
• Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
• Use overhead bridge cranes and forklifts to transport materials safely
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of prior experience in general labor, manufacturing, or coatings is preferred; will train the right candidate
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills
• Must be willing to work overtime as required

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and stand, walk, use fine finger manipulation, use hands to handle and grasp objects. You may be occasionally required to climb and balance, bend, stoop, twist, and/or crouch.

Overtime may also be required to meet project deadlines.
