Monaco Enterprises, a Spokane Valley based manufacturer of fire and emergency management systems, is seeking an Electronic Technician. The person in this position performs a wide variety of testing and repair of electrical, electronic, radio frequency, and computer based systems.

Overall Purpose of Job

Perform a wide variety of testing and repairing of electrical, electronic, radio frequency and computer based systems.

Essential Functions

Electronically align, calibrate, and test manufactured products and systems including radio frequency systems, following established procedures.

Troubleshoot and repair circuits, products, and systems as required in production. Modify and update standard and prototype products.

Recognize, identify, and document potential problems in manufacturing and/or testing processes.

Submit requests for materials, tools, equipment, and other items as required to perform primary function.

Maintain production schedule as communicated by Production Manager.

Design and fabricate fixtures and generate test procedures for Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Assurance Departments.

Generate manufacturing and/or test data summaries and conclusions.

Assist in development, training, and safety of all lower level technicians.

Program and test software driven products.

Maintain a high level of acceptance on all work performed.

Maintain a good working relationship with contacts in all departments.

Maintain regular, consistent attendance and punctuality.

Accurately complete time each day in Global Shop to provide record of time spent for each assigned job.

Perform other test or assembly operations at the direction of the Production Manager.

Work within safety guidelines provided by the Safety Committee.

Fully understand all SDSs (Safety Data Sheets) applicable to work areas used.

Recommend procedures to ensure employee safety.

Utilize all protective devices as required.

Report all safety violations immediately.

Report all accidents immediately.

Education

Required

AA degree in Electrical, Electronic, Robotics and/or related technologies; or equivalent military education with related military experience. Education must include digital and microprocessor courses.

Experience Required

Two years working in electrical, electronic, robotics and/or related industry fabricating, testing and/or repairing equipment.

Special Knowledge and Skills Required

Computer literacy. Knowledge of general electronic assembly workmanship standards.

Supervision and Authority

Receives general, direct supervision from Production Manager performing within established test procedures, operating procedures, engineering bills of material, assembly drawings, written instructions, and verbal instructions. May make discretionary decisions as to the allocation of time, design details, and materials to be used.

Technology/Equipment Used

Electronic test equipment including oscilloscope, digital volt meter, power supplies, and radio frequency calibration equipment. May occasionally use hand tools and power tools such as screw drivers, wrenches, files, drill‑press, and band saw. Computer terminal, personal computer, printers, and component pieces.

Working Environment and Conditions

Normal conditions of printed circuit board manufacturing and test area. May be exposed to soldering fluxes and solvents commonly used in printed circuit board assembly. Area is ventilated and air conditioned, with normal temperature about 75°F.
