Opportunity:
Cold Room Production Supervisor

We need a working supervisor to oversee the Processing staff, ensuring compliance with company policy and vision. The supervisor will manage processing operations and supervise the timely flow of all products throughout the Processing Department.

Essential Duties
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
  • Establish, coordinate and enforce operational procedures and standards to ensure high product quality.
  • Organize and plan for current and long‑term goals, including contingency plans for unpredictable outcomes.
  • Coordinate processing department activities such as product preparation, cutting, sorting, packaging and cleaning.
  • Manage and inspect quality of received product, trimmed product, and waste.
  • Manage overall production of processed produce for shipment to customers and ensure the final product meets specifications.
  • Assign tasks appropriately, using all resources and support available to meet or exceed productivity and quality standards, and appraise the results.
  • Walk the processing department daily to identify sanitation issues and address them.
  • Monitor the physical condition of the department and all food production equipment, ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met.
  • Ensure training is completed for processing personnel.
  • Act as liaison between all departments and processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Food production industry experience preferred.
  • Fresh produce experience preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly and make production decisions as needed.
  • Must have supervisory, time management and decision‑making skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact tactfully and effectively with all business operators and diverse company personnel.
Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:

  • Prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Occasional physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull and push heavy objects or materials.
  • Occasional lifting/moving boxes up to 75 pounds.
  • Some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching, and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Ability to work in 34°F – 40°F for significant periods of time.
  • Noise level is moderate to noisy.
