Job Purpose:
As an Electrical Control Panel Builder Intern, you will be responsible for the wiring and assembly of industrial control panels in accordance with the UL508A Standard.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with the assembly and installation of industrial control panels using hand and power tools
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics and recognize components
Assist with the assembly of electro-mechanical components with interconnected wiring
Cut, strip, bend and mount wires to connect electrical components within the control panel
Document modifications or as-built conditions on drawings
Test continuity of circuits in electrical wiring
Work with low voltage electricity and electrical components
Work with Engineering staff to help improve quality and efficiency
General manufacturing and assembly duties will be assigned when control panel shop work is not available
Job Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a related program
Ability to learn and understand requirements of applicable codes such as NEC 2022, NFPA
79, and UL508A
Attention to detail and accuracy required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Ability to recognize and understand electrical symbols
Ability to use hand tools, power tools and other related equipment
Ability to work quickly, while always utilizing safe work practices
Ability to stand, stoop and/or kneel for extended periods of time
