Warehouse Material Handler​/Packer; 1st Shift

Job Summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is a leading supplier of aircraft quality raw material products to the aerospace industry.

Stand or sit for prolonged periods, walk, use hand and fingers to handle or feel, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear, see, push or pull, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Medium/Heavy work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Prepares customer orders for shipping and assists production by performing the following duties.

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stenciles shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all assigned equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  Skills:
  
  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Mathematical
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability:
  Carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Physical Demands:
  Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Certificates:
  Forklift certification preferred.

  Ability to work irregular hours.

USD $18.00/Hr. – USD $18.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
