Role OverviewEntry Level Textile Operator I – responsible for the set‑up, operation, and maintenance of CNC textile loom equipment that produces carbon “Preforms” for aircraft braking systems.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate large‑scale CNC textile loom equipment to produce carbon preforms.
- Operate specialized cutting equipment to shape brake preform parts from boards.
- Assist with equipment preventative maintenance and visual/mechanical inspections.
- Load, unload, weigh, and stack material (≤25 lbs.) and perform necessary safety checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all standard operating procedures.
- Document process data and complete tasks assigned by management.
- Meet target productivity levels established for the department.
- Follow environmental, health, and safety procedures, including respirator fit checks and PPE requirements.
- Customer and company specifications, including international standards for carbon‑carbon brake production.
- Operation of support equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and power tools.
- Use of textile machines and equipment specific to this area.
- Fall protection system training and safety procedures.
- Time allotted for a comprehensive department training program.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a manufacturing or similar industry (preferred).
- Experience operating forklifts.
- Experience operating power tools.
- Salary: $54,000 per year (starting at $20.50/hr) with $2.25 shift differential.
