Job Description

The main function of the Area Specialist is to coordinate personnel to achieve the production schedule. This role collaborates with peer training specialists to ensure cGMP compliance prior to assigning personnel to areas. The CMO Area Specialist serves as the line SME with in‑depth knowledge of area SOPs to guide personnel throughout the production day. They analyze current and proposed manufacturing processes and technologies to identify improvements to processes, equipment, and automation to optimize manufacturing, meet current and new regulations, reduce waste, increase capacity, and develop and implement methods to increase output while complying with cGMPs.

Responsibilities
  • CMO Area Specialist I
    • Provide effective day-to-day leadership and oversight for small groups ranging from 5 to 25 team members
    • Schedule team members proficiently to achieve target turnaround times and meet production schedule targets
    • Be the Area SME for SOP updates and proposed equipment/process changes
    • Partner with training peers to drive training of team members
    • Spend 50% of production day in the manufacturing areas driving the teams and building rapport
    • Coordinate required activities with other departments to ensure completion of production schedules
    • Participate in RCAs, CAPAs, change controls, and other process improvements
  • CMO Area Specialist II
    • All items outlined in Specialist I
    • Two years in role
    • Drive production by achieving turnaround targets
    • Effectively keep people on task
    • Fluent in: SAP, Trackwise, Master Control, Compliance Wire
    • Annual high performance of 3+ rating or greater
  • CMO Sr. Area Specialist
    • All items outlined in Specialist I and II
    • Five years in role
    • Drive production by exceeding turnaround targets and training metrics
    • SME in SAP, Trackwise, Master Control, Compliance Wire
    • Annual high performance of 3+ rating or greater
  • Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Associate or Bachelor degree desired
    • Lean principle certifications (6 Sigma or otherwise) desired
    • OSHA 10 certification desired
    • 2 years manufacturing experience
    • Leadership experience desired
    • Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience desired
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
    • SAP experience required
    • Trackwise and Master Control experience required
    • Respirator Clearance Required
    Area Specialist II / Sr. Area Specialist (Additional Requirements)
    • Area Specialist II: 2 years in role or equivalent experience
    • Sr. Area Specialist: 5 years in role or equivalent experience
    Shift

    Weekend Nights, Friday – Sunday, every other Thursday, 6pm–6am

    Compensation & Benefits

    This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

    Hiring Wage:

    • Area Specialist I: $38/hour, depending on experience, with potential for growth and annual raises
    • Area Specialist II: $41/hour, depending on experience
    • Sr. Area Specialist: $44/hour, depending on experience
    • Shift differential pay is available and determined by hours worked on the assigned shift
