Assistant Production Manager / Floor Manager Wilbert Precast, Inc.

Wilbert Precast, Inc. is seeking an experienced, full-time, hands-on Assistant Production Manager/Floor Manager to help lead our production team, drive operational excellence, and support the safe and efficient manufacturing of high-quality precast concrete products. The role is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring production goals are achieved.

This position supports the Production Manager in overseeing production personnel, coordinating workflow, maintaining quality standards, promoting workplace safety, and ensuring production schedules are met. The successful candidate will be a visible presence on the production floor, working closely with supervisors, leads, maintenance personnel, and production employees to maximize efficiency and product quality.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee daily production floor activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely manufacturing of precast concrete products.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and resources to meet production schedules and customer demands.
  • Monitor workflow, production output, and plant performance, making adjustments as needed to maintain productivity.
  • Support the Production Manager in planning and executing production schedules.
  • Assist with troubleshooting operational challenges and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate production employees to achieve performance, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Partners with s team leads to ensure effective communication and accountability
  • Assist with employee onboarding, training, performance management, and development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure products meet Wilbert Precast quality standards and applicable industry specifications.
  • Support quality control inspections and corrective action processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and increase efficiency.
  • Work closely with production teams to maintain consistent product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor raw material and production supply levels to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to anticipate material requirements.
  • Track material usage and promote cost-effective production practices that reduce waste.
  • Champion a culture of safety and accountability throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety observations, participate in incident investigations, support corrective actions.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices among all team members.
  • Provide regular updates to the Production Manager regarding production performance, staffing needs, equipment concerns, and operational challenges.
  • Assist in preparing production reports, tracking key performance indicators, and supporting operational planning.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics o ensure smooth plant operations.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing, production, construction, precast concrete, or related industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage changing production demands.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and production reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in precast concrete, concrete products manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Lean manufacturing, process improvement, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, and quality control processes.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely navigate production areas and work around heavy equipment and machinery.
