Position: Resource Navigation and Intake Specialist (Temporary)

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY

WR Spokane is looking for Resource Navigation and Intake Specialist. This role will expand capacity to support refugee and immigrant families as they learn to navigate their new community through wellness assessments and connections to internal and external resources and services.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Admin and Coordination functions: logistics and supplies ordering for City Covenant office, staff City Covenant front desk for assigned hours, coordinate with assigned volunteers staffing the front desk.
  • Staff Redwood office for assigned hours, being available for walk‑in or scheduled appointments.
  • Intake:
    Conduct general needs assessments and in‑depth wellness assessments, then complete enrollments or referrals with eligible program participants.
  • Application assistance for accessing community resources and services and referrals to other programs and resources where application assistance is not needed.
  • Client notes, database entries, internal and external referrals with follow‑up.
  • Regularly update I&W department on new or changed community resource to add to resource lists.
  • Promote World Relief at community events.
  • Facilitate and support a range of group‑based educational activities or other community events. Some activities may be after normal business hours or over the weekend.
  • Document and record plans, activities, outcomes and follow‑up steps.
  • Attend regular meetings and check‑ins with the ambassador team and other World Relief teams as needed.
  • Learn and be able to communicate grant objectives, and services available, following policies and procedures.
  • Interpreting for newcomers participating in programs and services provided through World Relief.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Committed to the mission vision, and values of World Relief.
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church and broader community to impact vulnerable communities.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions.
  • Competent using computers and basic Microsoft program (word, excel, power point).
  • Able to work evenings or weekends (not more than twice a week).
  • Prior experience in a multicultural social services setting.

$22.80 - $24 an hour.
