26-27 Pierce Conservation District Farm Program Specialist
This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position, contingent on funding and open until filled. Pierce Conservation District is a government that works to conserve and restore the natural resources of both urban and rural Pierce County. Harvest Pierce County (HPC) is the Urban Agriculture wing of Pierce Conservation District, which aims to grow a thriving and just food system for our community.
The member will serve as part of the HPC team, focusing on supporting the next generation of farmers.
- Connect community members to each other and their food systems through gardening, gleaning, and education.
- Teach workshops.
- Lead work parties.
- Conduct recruitment and outreach for the program.
- Develop systems to support local farmers with additional resources, e.g., compiling grant opportunities.
